Family Passport

Whether you’re in the area seeking adventure or a relaxing weekend getaway, our onsite amenities cater to a vast number of luxurious pursuits and active lifestyles.

No matter your children’s ages, the Greenville area is home to plenty of activities to fill a day, a weekend, or even a week. From museums to hiking, no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it in the Upstate. Our guide features a mix of indoor and outdoor, free and paid activities.

Depending on the age of your children, some of these activities may be better suited than others, and we’ve tried to include offerings that appeal to a variety of ages.

Pro Tip: Due to social distancing policies, many activities now require reservations in advance, so make sure to check the location’s website for more details. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask the concierge!

Grab breakfast at Restaurant 17 and finalize your itinerary for the day. (Want to keep it more casual? Head into downtown Traveler’s Rest and grab fresh pastries from Sidewall Pastry Kitchen. We’ve also got a full Foodie tour here.)

Head into downtown Greenville and visit The Children’s Museum of the Upstate or take in the wild life at the Greenville Zoo!

If you want to get out in nature with the family, consider a family hike in Paris Mountain State Park. Other family-friendly hikes include: Lake Conastee Nature Preserve, Pleasant Ridge County Park Trails, and Keowee-Toxaway State Park. You can find more information about hikes here.

If you’re downtown, stop for a casual lunch of burgers and fries at Grill Marks, or have a slice or two of pizza at Barley’s.

Then, stick around downtown Greenville and explore Falls Park or hunt for the Mice on Main. Can you find all nine? You can find clues about their locations here

From there, it’s time to ramp up the excitement a little bit. Check out Frankie’s Fun Park or Spare Time for a variety of different activities in one place, or test your family’s teamwork and book an escape room at Escape Artist.

If you want to continue with outdoor activities, head out to Saluda instead and go zip-lining at The Gorge.

The Greenville area is a great place for all kinds of food. For dinner, consider tacos from Farmhouse Tacos (either in Greenville or Traveler’s Rest) or White Duck Taco Shop, New Southern from Tupelo Honey or Italian (and gelato!) from Luna Rosa Gelato Café.

If your kids still have energy after a busy day, consider the Urban Air Trampoline Adventure Park.

Or, if it’s still light, you could walk some of the Swamp Rabbit Trail’s 22 miles, taking in the city’s natural beauty.
