Farther Afield

Whether you’re in the area seeking adventure or a relaxing weekend getaway, our onsite amenities cater to a vast number of luxurious pursuits and active lifestyles.

If you’re looking to get away from the property for a day and experience a little more of the Upstate, there are plenty of activities available for couples. We’ve outline activities within a two-hour drive, each of the cities mentioned having much more to do as well. If you decide on a destination city, we recommend checking out their local tourism board for more activities and information. Don’t forget, too, our Upstate Adventurer Passport, for more activities in the area.

Morning

  • When you wake up you won’t even have to leave the property. Enjoy the comfort of your room and our room service or take advantage of our beautiful courtyard.
  • Head to Pisgah National Forest or the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike one of the wonderful trails. You can find more information about the available trails here.
  • Go rafting, kayaking, or stand up paddle boarding through Endless River Adventures, with multiple spots across Western North Carolina.
  • Visit the largest downtown in Western North Carolina (outside of Asheville) in Hendersonville, and eat at one of the many local restaurants while taking in the art and culture.

Afternoon

  • Book a tour at the Biltmore and follow it up with a complementary tasting at the Biltmore Winery.
  • Drive out to Brevard and take in the picturesque downtown, then visit one or two of the local waterfalls in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest, or rent a bicycle from Hotel Domestique and bring it to take on the 300 miles of single-track trails in the Brevard/Transylvania County area.
  • Head to Athens, Georgia, the birthplace of REM, and visit the State Botanical Garden of Georgia or one of the city’s many museums.
  • Go apple picking (when in season) at one of Hendersonville’s many orchards. Don’t forget the cider doughnuts and hot cider, either.

Evening

Visit the Asheville’s historic Omni Grove Park Inn for a history tour, spa session, or dinner.
